Hi, does anyone want to build a spaceship with me and leave? I'm not sure I want to live here anymore. I'm a peaceful person, I promise; I never hurt people. I can't take any more war talk.

But in the course of history, we are damn lucky people to have even such safety as we have, and in the course of history, these new war devices have come and gone and we have always come up with ways to deal with them. I hope we can now. I hope it's like the show Alias and our technology is a step ahead and can be created by the nerdy people in the labs overnight.

While some things that the weapons in Lisa's article would harm would be merely an inconvenience, such as if a weapon took out our personal computers. Yeah, we'd lose a lot of things, but we could still function--eat and drink and sleep and communicate on regular old phones and walk places if our computer-run cars were disabled by it. But people on ventilator machines in the hospitals wouldn't be okay. I feel like we are in another Y2K scare (like what if we have no more digital systems that work). Unlike Lisa, I was pretty surprised to read this, but then again, I hate war and violence so my mind stays out of this stuff completely. I'm glad there are people who do think about it so they can counteract the advances of others so I don't have to.
